Ecce Homo. Sculptor active in Lombardy, mid-16th century

Wooden sculpture depicting Ecce Homo. Christ, whose figure is cut at the height of the thighs, is standing, his arms crossed at the waist. His long curls frame his face with a pointed beard, a half-open mouth and a low gaze, in an attitude of resignation. He wears a loincloth that drapes his hips, while a heavy cape rests on his shoulders, fixed on his chest by a pin. The original polychromy is appreciable only in rare areas.

Dimensions: 76 x 42 x 28 cm
