Historical Stylistic Analysis:

Dorokhsh was a village located in the Korassan region of Iran, just 50 km from Mirjand and Mud, two of the main carpet manufacturing and collecting centres in the area. Dorokhsh is currently uninhabited, abandoned by its inhabitants in 1965 due to a disastrous earthquake.
In the last decades of the 19th century, Dorokhsh was known for its remarkable production of quality carpets, mainly destined for the French market. Even today, antique specimens from Dorokhsh are highly sought-after by amateurs and collectors, due to the fineness of the workmanship and the distinctiveness of the designs with which they are decorated.
This particular carpet, made at the end of the 19th century, is very rare for the design and colours used, as well as for the very fine moulding and the very considerable size.
