1920s Cabinet by Giambattista Gianotti

Description:

A wooden cabinet with polychrome decorations, crafted by the *Officine Riunite d’Arte Decorativa* (United Workshops of Decorative Art) of Giambattista Gianotti during the 1920s. The piece features ornamentation that highlights the beauty of its intricate carvings—found on the sides, legs, and internal drawers—testifying to the masterful craftsmanship and meticulous care invested in its creation. Constructed from mahogany and exotic woods, the cabinet opens to reveal a refined interior containing drawers of various sizes, finished with wooden knobs. The carved and painted surfaces depict natural motifs, such as flowers and birds, further enhancing the piece’s elegance. This item stands as a remarkable example of the cabinetmaking and woodworking artistry of the era.
A nearly identical piece was created for the Second Biennale, held between May and October 1925 at the Villa Reale in Monza.

This piece has been carefully restored in our workshops in Cambiago.
