Commode with two continuous drawers with retractable chain. The piece of furniture is rounded thanks to both a vertical and horizontal move, completely veneered in quadripartite Bois de Rose spread transversely to form the typical hearts; a maple purfling outlines the reserves of the sides and front. The chest of drawers is embellished with applications in chiseled and gilded bronze, handles, vents, sabots and decorations on the apron and uprights, the latter having the corner completely covered with a bronze profile that connects the foot shoe to the upper decoration. The “Sarrancolin Versailles” marble is molded around the edge. Interior in oak wood.

CODE: ANMOCA0191334

Historical-stylistic analysis:

The piece of furniture is made with the typical shapes and productions of the mid-century, the bronzes also correspond, which we find similar repeated on various pieces of furniture from that era. The material chosen and spread in this game that creates continuous hearts of rare beauty is very precious, the stain of Sarrancolin marble. Coming from Samy Chalom’s old antiquarian gallery located at 38 rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, it is accompanied by an expert report by Henry R. Chalom dated 1968. It has an illegible stamp under the top.
